Center for Information Technology and Data Base PTIPD UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta

UPT. PTIPD is one of the technical implementation unit (UPT) in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. In the early history of the establishment, PTIPD form units called Computer Center (Puskom) with tasks that are still very simple, according to the conditions of the current needs of the institution. Legally, Puskom has existed since the enactment of Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs Republic of Indonesia (KMA RI) number 385 of 1993 dated December 29, 1993, on the Organization and Work Procedure IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. In KMA RI contained article 60 which contain and explain that the Puskom Puskom is supporting element IAIN Sunan Kalijaga in the computer field (Article 60, paragraph 1). Puskom headed by a chief, who was appointed in between senior computer personnel in the Puskom responsible to the Rector and developed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (Article 60 paragraph 2).

The existence of Computer Center as the technical implementation unit or support element at IAIN Sunan Kalijaga also contained in the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 399 of 1993 on the statutes of the State Islamic Institute Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

In an effort to improve the quality of administrative services at IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta needed means of support in the form of high-enabled Puskom, tested the validity level, efficient, effective and supported by the accuracy of the data, processing speed and security are assured, then Rector of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta at the time, Prof. Dr H.M. Atho Mudzhar, form the executive team preparation program Computer Center IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

Due to the demands of the times which necessitates the need for fast and accurate information, then in 2004, the merger of the two institutions information management, namely Computer Center and Sub Division of Information Systems, becoming a technical implementation unit named Center for Computer and Information Systems (PKSI ). Puskom is one of the two units of the technical implementation or support element at IAIN Sunan Kalijaga (Statute IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Year 2001 Article 121, paragraph 3) that there was at that time in addition to the library. While the Sub-Division of Information Systems, originally a sub-section of Section Planning and Information Systems (PSI). PKSI existence at that time under the auspices of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia (KMA RI) number 390 of 2004 dated September 3, 2004.

Along with the development of technology that requires a guarantee of data management and processing and presentation of information quickly and accurately, then in 2013 the amendment to the duties and functions of PKSI the impact on the change of the name of the data management unit and this information so that it becomes Center for Information Technology and Base Data (PTIPD). The need for these changes occur in general at the national level, thus the name, duties, and functions of the unit implementing data management and information technology have created a standard for the entire State Islamic University (PTAIN). Especially for UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, change the name, duties, and functions of this unit are listed in the Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (RI PMA) No. 26 of 2013 on the Organization and Work (ortaker) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. In this ortaker, as stated in article 84, PTIPD has the duty to manage and develop information systems management, development, maintenance of networks and applications, database management, development of other technologies, and network cooperation. Based on these ortaker, PTIPD dipimin by heads appointed by the Rector, under and responsible to the Vice Chancellor for Public Administration, Planning, and Finance.
